This course provides a replay of the key features of the CMII process and associated work flows, but from an automation point-of-view. It includes an in-depth review of the 19 core business processes and their capabilities which are described with 225 operating standards.
Over half of the 225 operating standards reside in the configuration management domain and 100 need the support of enabling tools. Of the 100 tool requirements, 74 reside in the domain of CM and 40 of the 100 are categorized as mandatory. PLM tools which offer this capability are assessed against the 40 mandatory and 60 nonmandatory requirements. Using a 5-star rating scale, the first star is awarded when the tool can support all 40 mandatory requirements. The fifth star is awarded when the enabling software tool can support all of the other 60 requirements. Each functionality requirement is described in detail. PLM providers that take this course will know precisely what their tool needs to do. CM professionals will have a much better understanding of how to use automation to make their processes more efficient.
